At the Rothschild gallery
photographs of filmstars long-faded
lined the polished corridors carefully

But the real luxury that wound
warm rope around us that afternoon
was a crop of children in the garden

who ridiculed the gravity around them
they gave us a hummingbird smile
to follow us home through the frowning town

"When I became convinced that the universe is natural, that all the ghosts and gods are myths, there entered into my brain, into my soul, into every drop of my blood the sense, the feeling, the joy of freedom."

I share your enthusiam. I would love to have children someday. Great poem. Congrats on the Daily Deviation.

I don't know... this poem speaks to me about something I don't get from the world. The image is true, but the reaction... I can't relate to the reaction. Nonetheless, a very nice poem. Congrats on the DD, as well.

The lack of comments is probably due to the lack of patience. It's easier to look at a picture than to read a poem any day of the week. But I'm glad to see that the poets of DeviantART are being recognized.

Poets and writers are artists like any photographer or sculptor is. :rose:

Nice, 'ridiculed the gravity around them' so like children, congrats on the DD. :)

Did you know that:
E^2 = p^2c^2)+([<delta>m^2]c^4.
which implies that:
E= [mc^2]/[<sq. root> 1-(v^2/c")].
when p=0 (in eq 1, or 2, whichever you find simpler)
E=mc^2........
(In reality, p can never=0, so E should, realistically not be =mc^2, )

Yay for poetry being DD'ed!!
Nice work

As a matter of personal respect I have never quoted anyone I did not think was more clever than myself which has, until today, made me seem very foolish.

Cute, sweet and detached.

well I like all the cute little connections
it really is a perfect snapshot of that moment of realization
I know what you're talking about in this poem, though.

I honestly don't care.
